On October 28th, a devastating Category 5 hurricane, the strongest ever to make landfall in the Atlantic, struck Jamaica, the beautiful island where I was born and currently live.
About 70% of our 2.8 million people are displaced, without power or water, living in dire sanitary conditions, or have lost their homes. UNICEF estimates over 280,000 children are in urgent need.
The destruction is unimaginable. Places I cherished are unrecognizable or gone. Ground zero hit the bread-basket of Jamaica. The communities that fed our nation, welcomed tourists, and put Jamaica on the world map now desperately need our help.
We are a nation in mourning, in shock, and in need. But we are also resilient. The way our local community and the Jamaican Diaspora have rallied is one of the most beautiful displays of humanity I've witnessed.
Yet there is still SO MUCH to do.
Our Hart family stands 100% behind the AFJ's disaster relief fund. AFJ is working directly with ODPEM, GEM, Food for The Poor, and other trusted partners on the ground to deliver immediate relief and support long-term recovery.
When you donate to AFJ, you're not just giving money, you're helping rebuild lives, restore hope, and support the resilient spirit of the Jamaican people.
Every contribution makes a difference.
Please join us in supporting Jamaica's recovery.
